Walked off the hills and took an instant decision to move the van to The Ercal car park and brew up, read a book, make a grand day last a bit longer. And it did. And then some.
The inimitable squawking of peregrine chicks drew my eyes to the black snow plastered quarry wall. Two hours passed as i sipped brews, watched the adult birds conduct two-winged high-speed gymastics, and listened to what i can only interpret as “mother, food, now, i’m bloody starving and it’s flippin’ freezing”.
A privilege to have stayed a while and watched and listened.
