Tristan Gooley has just released a book called How To Connect With Nature.
So what ?
Tristan is the only living person to have both flown solo and sailed singlehanded across the Atlantic and is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation and the Royal Geographical Society.
So what ?
Although his first two books ( The Natural Navigator and The Natural Explorer) are very good, they can be heavy going in places, and don’t really appeal to a very wide audience.
So what ?
How To Connect With Nature is a small book, will take but a few evenings to read, and will partly if not completely change the way you look at the natural environment. It contains odd facts, subtle humour and over twenty years of knowledge and skill distilled in to 144 small pages.
Most of the chapters have really really simple experiments to open your senses and increase your understanding of what is going on in the outdoors. The experiments are brilliant, require no resources (other than a copy of the book) and can be used by parents, teachers, leaders and instructors.
Anyone that lives, works or plays in the outdoors, but particularly those responsible for outdoor experiential learning will be able to enhance their understanding of nature, and that of their pupils and clients by reading this book.
The book is £7.99
