Andy Kirkpatrick considerd Alpinism magazine, of which there was only ever one edition produced, by Canadian climbing legend Chic Scott, to be “the least known climbing magazine ever produced, while at the same time having by far the greatest list of contributors in one issue of a climbing mag ever!”. It has a depth of content and photography that elevated it, in my opinion, above (the original) Alpinist magazine too. Suffice therefore to opine that Sidetracked Volume One is on a par with Alpinism. I’ve spent 30+ years intrigued by the ability of books and journals containing exceptional writing and brilliant photography to fire and inspire the adventurous soul. Sidetracked, i applaud your endeavour.
