I spent yesterday in the company of 32 school children from Lincolnshire who ended their Primary School years with a sterling effort to ascend to the top of Mam Tor in the Peak District.
The Path Less Travelled provided Mountain Leaders who led the way, taught netttle eating, explained how hedgehogs get out of cattle grids and brought to life the night in February ‘79 when seismic activity twisted and buckled and finally collapsed the Castleton to Manchester road in one of the largest land slips ever in the UK.
Then yes of course we did ice creams !!
