Time on my hands now (I have pneumonia). Books. Revisiting what for me is one of the finest, and most inspiring, travel books of the last fifty years. Within days of reading this book I was queuing at the doctors in my hometown for inoculations in order to get the visas to travel to the exotic sounding places Nick visited. I remember the pink rabies injection entering my arm … a loud klaxon … then coming round in the General Hospital. Seemingly I was very very allergic to the rabies inoculation ! Plans change, but I still got to many of the places in the book on Government and MoD ‘work’ over the next 25 years. I can’t recommend Danziger’s Travels highly enough …
