Here is a LINK to a public consultation called ‘Hope Cement Works 2042’ … does what it says on the tin …. it’s seeking opinions and ideas on uses for the Hope Cement Works site after 2042.
The geography of the site plus the existence of rail and high voltage power on the site may lend it to some unique uses.
An enormous wound in the Peak District needs healing in a way that also provides the valley and the surrounding area with sustainable employment and sustainable and affordable housing options.
2042 seems a long way off but it isn’t in major planning and development terms. The thinking needs to start now.
