I was probably 10 or 11 when someone three a tent at me out of the store room at 1st Norton Scouts HQ. We were off to the Moors for some walking and camping … and so began my many many nights camping in a Terra Nova Quasar.
They were a bit big and a bit heavy, but when the weather either crapped out or you were going somewhere where the weather was notoriously serious.
Sitting out a storm in a properly pegged out one with the snow valance weighted down gave a sense of invincibility.
I think i’ve owned 4 over the years. Some got loaned out and never returned. Fond memories of an amazing design.
Terra Nova have released a 40 year anniversary edition of the Quasar.
