Just a heads up really …
Several times now i’ve had niche things that i have been looking for via google (eg a very rare item of used outdoor gear eg most recently an Alpha SK rucksack) ‘magically’ turn up the same day on my ‘recommended for you’ feed on @vintedUK
Each time the ‘sellers’ have turned out to be fake / scammers. In this latest case they also claimed to have sent the postage evidence (they didn’t) and also blocked me the second i made the purchase.
Is that just a coincidence or can AI not only see my search engine activity but also actually generate an ‘item for sale’ on Vinted matching it and plonk it in my timeline ….. ?
