High and Dry

I sat on a bank side last night (Callow Bank above Hathersage). I’d gone there off the back of receiving this message …

As it turns out i didn’t find whatever ‘it’ was. My ranger colleagues also put a drone up to no avail.

I’d forgotten how remarkably complex at a micro scale the front and bottom of Callow Bank are. I’m surprised nobody has started ‘Callow Bank Fit’ whereby they meet clients in the Higger car park and just get them to find their own way up, down and sideways on the Bank. 45 to 50 degrees of choss, bog and small sitches. I’ve seen people paying for similar quasi-survivalist/Special Forces thrashings as a form of fitness.

I digress.

I sat up there a while and watched the sun setting

when a thing at the bottom of the slope caught my eye

so i zoomed in

and a bit further

and then i realised what it was ….

but then couldn’t fathom where it had come from. Had someone actually been drying their clothes on a fold-up clothes horse on Callow Bank.

So many questions remain unanswered ….
