Fence 1

Having to disfigure the landscape (with fencing) to stop people disfiguring the landscape (by driving 4x4s illegally on to legally protected peat moorland)

I’m sure efforts like this took place in the countryside when i was a kid but i can’t honestly recollect any

Did people consciously set out to damage the countryside in the 70’s and 80’s or is it a more modern thing ?

A dreich day for the @eastern_moors_partnership rangers on Houndkirk Moor • It’s a shame that such measures are necessary but earlier efforts around engagement and signage have failed to influence behaviours

Motion activated remote camera technology is also now being used to identify vehicles driving off Houndkirk and Jumble

Have a read of the Highway Code and the legend of the relevant OS map if you’re not sure whether or not your evening outing is a Section 59 offence likely to attract points and a fine
