
Another iconic place up for sale.
The Kirkstone Inn the other week and now the Clachaig.
Another one that has me pondering on the viability of a community purchase. And by ‘community’ i mean anyone and everyone that’s ever enjoyed the Clachaig chips in and it’s owned and ran by the people for the people with a Trust in place and good people on good wages looking after it.
Rather than becoming another atmosphereless Kingshouse or unsympathetically destroyed in to AirB&Bs. Just a thought.
Where are the youth of today supposed to shelter from foul winter weather whilst nursing a pint and a bowl of chips (for less than £20) whilst gaining the ‘solid background in British winter mountaineering’ that they’re always berated for not having
