and the search still goes on • i’ve designed the winter sack i want (in my head) but nobody makes it • so i keep buying and trying and selling • anyway, @tomrichardson1811 has given me a lend of his @mountainequipment Tupilak 45 to see what i think (maybe he caught me lusting after it at OCC a few weeks back) • but Tom being Tom it’s not just any old Tupilak 45 is it ….. large retro ME badge + the ‘hip fin gear racks off a Patagonia Ascensionist sack that Steve House gave him’ + an original Berghaus Bergbuckle + and all the straps are bleached from significant time at altitude in the Greater Ranges • it’s a ‘frankenbergan’ • it’s the rucksack equivalent of being thrown the keys to an Aston Martin DB6 Volante • maybe that’s the answer …. just collect the bits of rucksacks that i do like and cobble them together • also interested to see the Makalu sack that Tom said ME are working on 🧐🤞• anyway, i’ve packed it and got my head round the Grappler™️ buckle … i just need to cart it up some hills now …
