It’s a funny old ‘world’ this social media int’ it …
You post some serious stuff and nobody bats an eye-lid.
You post a picture of yourself smoking a fag whilst holding a can of fuel whilst a wildfire rages 2ft away in the AI generated background and some people genuinely think its real.
You post a short clip of a fencing wheel and nigh on 50,000 people see it.
You do some daft posts but also some grown up ones that try and explain what’s actually happening (and why) on the eastern margin of the Peak District National Park.
And then somebody does a series of Facebook posts on camera claiming that you and your colleagues are preserving the moors solely for the purpose of the grouse shooting industry.
And then you find that others are vocal in their support of your efforts to protect the moorland whilst at the same time writing to complain about the efforts they are vocally supportive of.
And it all just seems a bit like the juice really really isn’t worth the squeeze sometimes.
But then your mate puts a turkey on your head and you both head off in to the night to rescue Santa.
‘To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield’ …
