For many months now i have been making several visits a week to a sett out on the moors to monitor the 🦡 there and occasionally take them some morsels and peanuts.
Then the other day my next door neighbour messaged me to say ‘look out your living room window at the conifer … and then look at the line in the grass leading under it’
The tell tale belly scuff of a sett of 🦡
So that night i walked down and round (i live 4 floors up) and placed the wildlife camera down and threw a handful of peanuts out ….
and before i had got back to the stairwell the residents had appeared and the camera app on my phone was beeping.
I absolutely bloody love badgers me.
P.S. i made the schoolboy error of holding the camera in the hand that had held the peanuts, hence this wonderful clip …
P.P.S. can i give yet another shout out for ‘Interrupted Journeys’ (book or audiobook) by ‘Adrian Potter’. I’m on my 4th lap and it’s such an informative read / listen about the animals in our gardens, streets, fields and allotments. Ask Santa to get you it.
